Kiemle Hagood was founded in 1971 in Spokane, Washington by Ed Kiemle and Jerry Hagood, who shared a vision of building a full-service commercial real estate firm grounded in market expertise, integrity, and long-term client relationships. From its earliest days, the firm established a strong foothold in Eastern Washington, earning a reputation for disciplined analysis and hands-on service.
As the company matured, ownership transitioned to ensure continuity and long-term stability. Tom Quigley became a partner in 1987, helping guide the firm through this period of growth and leadership evolution.
Ed Kiemle retired in the early 1990s, beginning the firm’s first generational transition. The next chapter of ownership brought additional depth and continuity. Larry Soehren became a partner in 1996, contributing to leadership and growth until his retirement in 2020. Jerry Hagood retired in 1997, formally stepping back after more than two decades of leadership that shaped the firm’s culture and standards.
Gordon Hester joined the partnership in 2007, reflecting the firm’s ongoing commitment to developing internal leadership. Geographic expansion followed the same deliberate approach. After decades of success in Spokane, Kiemle Hagood opened an office in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho in 2008, located in the Riverstone development, extending its services into North Idaho. Tom Quigley retired in 2021, marking another successful leadership transition.
In 2016, the firm opened its Kennewick / Tri-Cities office, expanding its presence further across Eastern Washington. Growth continued in 2017 with the opening of the Missoula, Montana office on March 1, 2017, establishing a footprint in Western Montana. Casey Brazil became a partner in 2017, coinciding with a period of geographic expansion and operational diversification.
At the end of 2025, the firm welcomed new shareholders, continuing a long-standing tradition of planned succession and shared ownership. Today, Kiemle Hagood’s history reflects more than five decades of steady growth, disciplined ownership transitions, and intentional geographic expansion. From its Spokane roots to a multi-market regional presence, the firm has remained anchored by the same core principles established at its founding; Local expertise, trusted relationships, and leadership continuity, all while continuing to evolve for the future.
